Applications

Application Criteria

Each project must have:

  1. The potential to generate $100m revenue over five years and $1billion revenue each over 20 years
  2. A sound business case that demonstrates that the project would not proceed at the pace and in the timeframe without Canterbury V5 support
  3. Each project may:
  4. Demonstrate higher returns, lower risks and earlier positive impacts (30%)
  5. Generate revenue into the Canterbury community from outside New Zealand (20%)
  6. Contribute towards building infrastructure - both hard and soft (20%)
  7. Have sponsorship from a principal in the form of both leadership and preparedness to invest (15%)
  8. Generate revenue into Canterbury from within New Zealand (10%)
  9. Be Canterbury born and bred (5%)

(NOTE - Criteria 3-8 are optional but preference will be given to projects that have the highest combined score over all six of these weighted criteria)

Submitting an Application

  1. Download the application form
  2. Fill in the application form (if you are having trouble seeing the fields then click on "Highlight Fields"
  3. Save the application to your computer
  4. Create an email
  5. Attach the application to the email
  6. Send the email to

All parties who wish to submit an application must do so using the standard application form and the short-form Business Case Template provided.

Those selected to progress to the second round of judging (please see judging) will receive assistance to 'storyboard' their project for presentation to the judging panel. As part of the second round of judging, these projects will need to complete the in-depth Business Case template (to be provided).

Initial applications must be received no later than 5:00pm on 30th September 2009.
